چکیده

In this paper, a new density formulation for free surface simulations using SPH is presented. This approach applicable to surface-tension driven flows with strong topological changes. The corrected each particle by analytically calculating the missing volume of support domain. calculation depends on two parameters: local curvature and distance surface. method was validated compared evolution test cases: square droplet Rayleigh–Plateau instability. It shows more stable results better representation • A novel developed in SPH. geometric based coefficient proposed correcting near present found increase stability tension simulations.

A New 3D Parallel SPH scheme for Free Surface Flows

The focus of the research activity is on the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method and its applications to environmental flow problems. The purpose is to model fully three-dimensional non-hydrostatic free surface flows and impact problems with the SPH method applying it to inviscid and viscous fluids. After a thorough literature review of the SPH method, the research work is divided up i...

Simulations of 3D non-hydrostatic free surface flows with SPH

In this paper, the application of a new robust and accurate SPH scheme proposed by Ferrari et al. [1] is presented. It provides good accuracy for computing complex 3D non-hydrostatic free surface flows. This has been assesed by the comparison of the numerical solutions of dam-break and impact-wave problems against experimental data and reference solutions. Moreover, to improve considerably the ...

Simulation of Gravity Wave Propagation in Free Surface Flows by an Incompressible SPH Algorithm

This paper presents an incompressible smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) model to simulate wave propagation in a free surface flow. The Navier-Stokes equations are solved in a Lagrangian framework using a three-step fractional method. In the first step, a temporary velocity field is provided according to the relevant body forces. This velocity field is renewed in the second step to include t...

A comparative study of truly incompressible and weakly compressible SPH methods for free surface incompressible flows

In this paper, the performance of the incompressible SPH (ISPH) method and an improved weakly compressible SPH (IWCSPH) method for free surface incompressible flows are compared and analyzed. In both methods, the Navier–Stokes equations are solved, and no artificial viscosity is used. The ISPH algorithm in this paper is based on the classical SPH projection method with common treatments on soli...

A numerical investigation into the correction algorithms for SPH method in modeling violent free surface flows

A quantitative comparison of the usual and recent numerical treatments which are applied to the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method are presented together with a new free-surface treatment. A series of numerical treatments are studied to refine the numerical procedures of the SPH method particularly for violent flows with a free surface. Two dimensional dam-break and sway-sloshing prob...
